The Raconteurs played together for the first time in nearly seven years on Saturday night, October 10, when Jack White invited his bandmates up for the encore of his solo show at The Truth, according to NME, Consequence and Rolling Stone.
The lineup was the familiar one: White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler. NME reported that The Truth is a new venue holding 4,400 people, and that White was closing a two-night run there. Keeler has also been drumming in White's current solo touring band, so the reunion needed only two extra faces.
The Set
The group opened with their 2006 debut single, "Steady, As She Goes," then moved through "Hands," "Level" and "Broken Boy Soldier." They closed with "Carolina Drama," from 2008's Consolers Of The Lonely. Rolling Stone noted that four of the five songs came from the debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers.
Earlier in the night, White's own set drew from across his career. NME listed The White Stripes songs "Icky Thump," "Black Math" and "Seven Nation Army," plus solo material including "Lazaretto," "Freedom At 21" and "That's How I'm Feeling."
The surprise was flagged in advance. White's Instagram account told Raconteurs fans to get tickets, adding that "there just might be a little surprise," as Consequence and Rolling Stone both reported.
How Long It Has Been
The sources differ slightly on the band's previous show. NME put it at December 13, 2019, the end of a touring year behind their third album, Help Us Stranger. Rolling Stone also said December 2019, while Consequence said October 2019. All three agree the gap is close to seven years.
That album arrived in June 2019, 11 years after Consolers Of The Lonely. According to NME, the touring that followed included a night where The Strokes' Julian Casablancas joined them for a cover of "The Modern Age."
Why Now, and What Next
The timing lines up with a Third Man Records announcement. Rolling Stone and Consequence reported that the label's Vault series will mark 20 years of Broken Boy Soldiers. Rolling Stone said the package will include a recording of the band's first concert, on March 20, 2006, plus nine demos from that period.
Whether the encore was a one-off is unclear. Rolling Stone said it could be tied to the reissue, to the opening of the venue, or to bigger plans, and none of the sources confirm any further Raconteurs dates.
White released his seventh solo album, Frozen Charlotte, in July and has toured throughout 2026. NME said his recent shows have featured several guests, among them The Strokes' Nick Valensi. A Raconteurs cameo adds to that run, and the Vault release gives fans a reason to hope it is not the last.
