Sasha Keable took the musical guest slot on Saturday Night Live UK on October 10, performing two songs on the fourth episode of the sketch show's second series. Danny Dyer hosted, according to NME.
She opened with "Options," her newly released single, and came back later in the episode for "Why." The first is a soulful R&B track put out earlier this month; the second first appeared in 2024 and later landed on her 2025 EP, "Act Right."
The story behind "Options"
"Options" was released on October 1 with a music video that Keable shot in a country where she has family roots. The song deals with the tangled emotions of intimacy once a relationship is over, and she co-wrote it with Eddie Lopes.
Keable described how the writing session began. "When I walked into the studio Eddie had already been working on the melody," she said. She then sang the first thing that occurred to her back to him, a phrase about breakup sex, and it turned into the song's central lyric.
The single follows "ACT II," an expanded edition of "Act Right" released in February that adds five tracks.
A rising profile
NME gave the original "Act Right" EP a five-star review, praising the way Keable blends classic soul influences with contemporary R&B and calling it a striking reintroduction of the artist. The publication also placed her on its list of 100 essential emerging artists of 2026.
She has a BRIT Awards nomination for Best R&B Act this year. Her recent run has included touring with GIVĒON, supporting Olivia Dean, and appearing at the Roots Picnic festivals.
What's next
Keable's next high-profile date comes on October 21, when she joins a special 20th anniversary celebration of Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" at the Roundhouse. Mark Ronson, Salaam Remi and the Amy Winehouse Band will play the album in full. Guest vocalists include Jorja Smith, FLO, Corinne Bailey Rae and Lianne La Havas.
Saturday Night Live UK returns on October 17 with James Norton hosting and The Streets as musical guests. Cynthia Erivo and Blossoms appear on October 24, after which the show pauses until early 2027.
For Keable, a network sketch-show slot paired with a fresh single and a place in a landmark album tribute makes for a busy stretch, and a clear sign that her momentum from the past year is carrying into the autumn.
