Blondie have a new album on the way. High Noon, the band's 12th studio record and its first set of new songs in nine years, is scheduled for February 26 through BMG, NME reported. The opening single, Spectral Eyes, is out now.
The release carries extra weight because it holds the final recordings of Clem Burke. Rolling Stone reports that the co-founding drummer died in April 2025 at 70, and NME notes that much of the album was finished before his death.
Who Is on the Record
Debbie Harry and Chris Stein lead a 13-song tracklist that leans on a wide circle of guests. Johnny Marr wrote Spectral Eyes and adds guitar to it. Glen Matlock contributed Sleepwalking. Zach Condon of Beirut appears, as do Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius.
The band's own writing fills out the rest. Stein wrote Heartbreak Kid, and he and Harry share credit on Man Who Had No Face, according to Rolling Stone. There is also a fresh take on Little Metal Drummer, a song first cut by founding keyboardist Jimmy Destri for his solo debut, Heart On A Wall. Harry and Burke both played on that 1981 version.
Harry framed the project as a summary of the band's whole run. "This album is classic Blondie — an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new," she said in a statement quoted by Rolling Stone.
How It Was Made
Work started in 2022, when the band reunited with producer John Congleton, who also produced 2017's Pollinator. David Wrench came aboard later for additional production and the mix, Rolling Stone reports.
The band describes the sound as punk and rock sitting next to dance music and Latin rhythms. The artwork and visuals come from director Rob Roth, a collaborator since the band's 1999 album No Exit, per NME.
Stein kept his comment wry, telling fans the trip had been long and strange and that the band is grateful for years of support.
Why It Matters
Nine years is a long gap for any act, and longer still for one whose members have spoken openly about health and uncertainty. That makes High Noon feel less like a routine comeback and more like a deliberate statement, built around a drummer whose playing anchored so much of the band's catalog.
Pulling in Marr and Matlock also signals that Blondie still sit at the center of the scene they helped shape, with peers willing to hand them songs rather than just guest on them.
Spectral Eyes is the first chance to hear how that mix lands. The full album follows on February 26.
