Georgia Juvelis to Step Down as AMC Global Media Communications Chief

The 19-year veteran, who arrived as AMC was launching Mad Men, leaves at year's end, and the company will not replace her as communications teams move into each business unit.

Georgia Juvelis, chief communications officer of AMC Global Media, will step down at the end of 2026 after 19 years with the company, she told staff in an internal memo, Deadline and Variety reported.

Her job will not be filled. Instead, AMC is dropping its centralized communications structure, with each business's team reporting into the unit it serves while still working together. Longtime executives Jim Maiella, Olivia Dupuis and Matt Pollack will remain central to corporate communications, talent and entertainment publicity, according to Variety.

From Mad Men to streaming

Juvelis joined Rainbow Media, AMC Global's predecessor, as a vice president in 2007, just as AMC was shifting from a classic movie channel into a home for prestige drama with Mad Men and Breaking Bad. The Walking Dead followed as a ratings smash. In her memo, she pointed to milestones including the company's 2011 spin-off as a public company, the launch of AMC Studios, international expansion and the growth of streaming services AMC+, Shudder and Acorn TV.

"It's been an honor to tell the company's story through these many chapters," she wrote. She thanked CEO Kristin Dolan and former boss Josh Sapan, and closed on a personal note: she was expecting her daughter when she joined AMC and is leaving just after dropping her off at college.

Dolan called Juvelis a trusted colleague who helped steer the company's communications through some of its most important moments, adding that she leaves a lasting mark. AMC Global Media's portfolio includes AMC Network, AMC+, IFC, SundanceTV and BBC America.
