NFL Week 7: Browns and Giants Lead Divisions as Ravens Collapse

Deshaun Watson delivered another late winner, the Giants won with a third different starter and Baltimore blew a 13-0 halftime lead in a 35-13 loss to the Bengals.

The final Sunday of October left the NFL standings looking upside down. The Cleveland Browns sit atop their division, the New York Giants lead the NFC East and the Baltimore Ravens are in last place after one of the most stunning collapses in league history, CBS Sports noted in its Week 7 grades.

Surprise leaders

Deshaun Watson led yet another fourth-quarter game-winning drive in the Browns' 27-24 win over the Titans, his fifth of the season. That makes him only the third quarterback since 1970 with a game-winning drive in each of his team's first five wins.

The Giants won behind J.J. McCarthy after earlier victories with Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart. No team had won three or more games with three different starters before November since the 2016 Patriots. The Cowboys pulled within a game of them by beating the Eagles on Monday night.

Baltimore's meltdown

The Ravens led the Bengals 13-0 at halftime and lost 35-13, the third-largest defeat in NFL history for a team leading by at least 13 at the break. It was their second straight week shutting out an opponent in the first half before going scoreless and losing in the second.

All three Ravens losses this season have come after they held a double-digit lead, and since 2020 they have dropped 17 such games, the most in the league. Adding to the sting, the Giants and Browns are coached by John Harbaugh and Todd Monken, both of whom Baltimore let go after last season.
