Mickie James now has a defined job at TNA Bound For Glory. TNA President Carlos Silva announced that she will be the special guest referee when Xia Brookside defends the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Indi Hartwell, according to Ringside News and Wrestling Inc.
Wrestling Inc. reported that Silva made the reveal on X on Friday, in a video posted through TNA's account. Ringside News noted that James had already been confirmed for the October 11 show after the previous Thursday's episode of iMPACT!, but the company had held back what she would be doing.
Why Silva stepped in
In the video, Silva pointed to trouble involving his authority figures, Santino Marella and Daria Rae, and said Rae has been suspended. Wrestling Inc. reported that Rae, the Director of Operations, first resisted Hartwell's claim as next contender and told her title shots must be earned.
The same report says Zoey Serrano, Rae's former Pure Fusion Collective stablemate in WWE, debuted during the feud and attacked Hartwell. Rae later slapped Hartwell on iMPACT, Marella saw it, and he took the footage to the TNA board of directors, which led to her suspension.
The rest of the card
Ringside News said James returned to TNA earlier this year, feuded with Ash By Elegance and The Elegance Brand, and teamed with ODB and Taryn Terrell at TNA Rebellion.
The show is set for the Yuengling Center. The start time was moved to 4:30 PM ET, right after the Hall of Fame ceremony at 4 PM ET. Nic Nemeth faces Leon Slater for the TNA World Championship, and The Hardys meet syX in a No DQ Falls Count Anywhere Match. Eddie Edwards is booked against Ricky Sosa, and a Call Your Shot Gauntlet is also on the card.
Multi-person bouts are set for the TNA International Championship and the TNA X-Division Championship. Ringside News said more could be added, and both outlets point to a Knockouts Tag Team Championship match in which Serrano will team with Shayna Baszler.
