Zoey Serrano and Shayna Baszler will go after the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Titles at Bound For Glory, according to Fightful. Champions Kiera Hogan and Allie set the match in motion on the October 8 Thursday Night iMPACT.
How the match came together
Fightful reported that Hogan and Allie crossed paths with Serrano backstage before their exhibition match on the show. After winning, the champions took a microphone, called Serrano out and offered her a title opportunity at Bound For Glory.
Ringside News noted that the offer let Serrano pick her own partner. It was revealed later that she had chosen Baszler. Per Fightful, the pair have not teamed since WWE, where they were part of the Pure Fusion Collective trio with Daria Rae, now an on-screen authority figure in TNA.
Status and the rest of the card
Ringside News, writing right after the challenge, said TNA had not yet listed the tag title match among its officially announced bouts, and counted seven matches on the official list at that point. Fightful's updated card includes the tag match, along with these bouts:
Nic Nemeth defends the TNA World Championship against Leon Slater, and Xia Brookside puts the Knockouts World Championship on the line against Indi Hartwell. Mustafa Ali defends the TNA International Championship in a four-way against Jason Hotch, John Skyler and Agent Zero. The X Division Championship is set as a six-way scramble. The Hardys meet Syx in a Falls Count Anywhere match, Eddie Edwards faces Ricky Sosa, and Moose has an open challenge with an opponent still to be named. The Call Your Shot Gauntlet Battle Royal is also on the show, and Mickie James is listed to appear.
What's next
Bound For Glory is scheduled for Sunday, October 11. Ringside News reported that TNA recently moved the start time to 4:30 p.m. ET, following the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
